-I joined the CNU faculty in Fall 1991.  Before coming to CNU, I taught psychology classes for several years at Old Dominion University and Virginia Wesleyan College.

Personal information:
I am married to Chris Jones.  We live in Norfolk's Ghent, with our cat Chimay.  I grew up in New Jersey.

Interests and hobbies
Travel, cats, homebrewing, music (especially traditional Virginia folk ballads and songs), old houses, health and fitness, reading, people.

 My Ph.D is in Industrial Psychology, from Old Dominion University. I earned my MA at Fairleigh Dickinson in New Jersey and my BA at Dickinson College in Pennsylvania.

Nov. 2000

Trained police officers to improve service encounter interactions with juveniles based on characteristics of adolescent psychology.  This training was offered as a function of a grant funded by the State of Virginia.  Developed and delivered training program and assessed participant knowledge using a pre-test-post-test design.  Contact: Gary Green, CNU Department of Government.

Sept. 2000

Developed and delivered workshop to people living with HIV.  Workshop focused on developing trust and interaction among members of HIV support group participating in drug trials and undergoing treatment for HIV.  This workshop was delivered as a function of a grant managed by Eastern Virginia Medical School.  Contact: Ginny Sealey, Eastern Virginia Medical School, Norfolk, VA.

Job analysis project: (Phase 1) Trained 7 students and coordinated student involvement in performing job analysis activities.  Approximately 50 jobs analyzed and written job descriptions developed using functional job analysis language. (Phase 2) Conducted training workshops for managers to write job descriptions using functional job analysis language.
Selection training project: Conducted training workshops for managers on developing effective selection interview questions and work samples.  Trained 2 graduate student facilitators to assist in conduct of training workshops.
Competence assessment project: Conducted training workshops for managers to develop behavioral competence assessment procedures for documenting staff competence in performing key job duties.  Trained 2 graduate student assistants to consult with management on competence assessment procedures.

Designed and conducted an organizational intervention to address customer service quality issues in a long-term care organization.  Interventions included quality circles to diagnose service quality problems and develop process solutions, and behavior modeling training of service staff.

Organizational Personnel Consultant.  Designed and conducted assessment of    organizational climate and management training needs.  Designed management training   program based on needs assessment.  Designed and conducted training workshops for   management staff.  Facilitated feedback of survey data to all organizational levels.    Evaluated performance appraisal system and made recommendations to senior HR staff.

Surveyed a nationwide sample of personnel directors to assess actual personnel practices in organizations for comparison to "state of the art" personnel practices.   Results presented at Industrial/Organizational Psychology and Organizational Behavior Convention and Southeastern Psychological Association Annual Meeting.

Member of Old Dominion University/Organizational Effectiveness Center consulting team.   Conducted an organization-wide assessment and evaluation of job satisfaction and climate at U.S. Navy facility.

Research Assistant. Conducted a comprehensive review and analysis of organizational participative decision making innovations utilizing quasi-experimental research designs to determine the effects of participative  decision making on productivity, quality of worklife and technological innovation.
